Your doctor’s handwriting – You’ve tried squinting, looking up what cursive letters look like, and even gotten a second and third opinion. But you still can’t understand what it is.
It’s a pretty common phenomenon, but just because it’s common doesn’t make it any easier for the rest of us.
In fact, sloppy doctor handwriting likely causes deaths. Giving doctors lessons in handwriting likely isn’t going to happen, so what else could be done?
The company “Notable” believes they have the solution: record audible notes which automatically transcribe themselves.
This Apple Watch app is a very simple one that had nearly $3 million in research and development. The goal ultimately was to save time spent on administrative costs, which include deciphering handwriting, and cut it down by up to 50%.
The app works with many of the most popular work flows that doctors use, which means its highly compatible. It uses an artificial intelligence which learns how doctors speak and how they like their notes to look, then adapts the notes to the doctor’s preferences. The best part? It’s also 100% HIPPA compliant.
This is just another way that devices like smart watches are integrating into our lives even further and bringing a future that we could have only dreamed about with them.
